Thoughts on Work

When and why did you start your current job?

started my current job at the age of 28. I love meeting new people and getting to know them. Actually, when I was a college student, I wanted to become independent in a sales job.
Back when I was in college, I jumped into doing a part-time job in door-to-door sales which I thought was very fun and fulfilling. Then also during my many years of athletic club life during my school days, I was always in a high-position managing things such as the captain or the vice- captain.

From these two experiences, I thought, "I really want to have a long-term relationship that is directly contributing to the customer's life, not B to B, but B to C." I sincerely believe sales is my calling in life.

So I thought, what is the best job to directly contribute to the customer’s life? After coming to the realization about sales, I came across my current job. Looking for a company that stood out from the crowd with those desired characteristics, I found my current company that has excellent know-how and products in asset management and asset formation, so I decided to get on board with them immediately.

With so many sales positions, I realized it's not about things like communication technology or digital content, it's about finance. I thought, "I think Japan needs a job that can support the long life of our customers through great financial services." Now that Japan is in an era of nationally encouraging asset formation and investment management, I feel that what I had imagined in the past has finally taken shape.

Currently, as an Executive Financial Plan Advisor, our job is to support the operation and management of our customers' money from a long-term perspective. At the same time, I want to be a life counselor and a guide to enrich their lives. It can also be the center of referrals and networking for your colleagues and business partners. I feel that being able to have a long relationship with customers is my lifework.

When do you feel happiest while working?

One of the things that makes me happy in my job is when customers who have been with me for years or decades once again thank me for working with them. When I hear, "the business has grown as planned," "there is more financial reserve than I expected," or "thanks to your help, I was able to achieve my goals” I feel proud of my work. Customers often forget what they thought and planned in the past though Many of them tell me, "I trust you, so I want to talk to you," and I'm very happy when the end result is a simple "Thank you."

The other thing that makes my job fulfuilling is when customers introduce their friends or family asking, "Would you like to get in touch with this person?" I think it's a great gauge of how our trust has grown together as a team, so that makes me even happier beyond their gratitude to me.

I feel happy that I have been able to work hard by accumulating the gratitude of my customers.

What type of work are you best at?

I consider myself good at clarifying "the ideal future of my customers" together with my customers and helping them to realize it. According to "Strength Finder ®", which discovers the qualities that a person has for a lifetime, my qualities were "responsible," "relator," "strategic," "future-oriented," and "developer." Strength Finder® is an online "talent diagnosis" tool developed by Gallup in the United States, and is said to find one's own qualities and talents that will not change for a lifetime. These five qualities are surprisingly necessary for my current job and fit my image perfectly.

"Responsible" is indispensable for work dealing with money. And it is the image of a private banker or mentor / coach that needs "relator" to personally interact with customers (for each president). "Strategic" that creates the ideal form and draws a strategy for the future of the customer's life and business, and "future-oriented" and "developer" are helpful in realizing it.

What kind of customer would you like to meet?

I think I’m best suited for working with business owners. Those who ask questions like, "I would like to consider whether it is consistent to clarify what I should be and what my company should be." "I'm looking towards the future, but I haven't started to make it happen." "I want to build a stronger relationship of trust with my family and employees." I want to be the person you can vent everything to. Together, I vow to help you to achieve your goals. I hope you find these services useful.
